Community Supported Agriculture
Agreements
We agree to provide our members with a weekly box of organic produce grown on our farm throughout our 20 week season.
Shared Risk/Shared Reward
Membership to a CSA offers a more intimate and up-close relationship with your food source. Visits to the farm each week and consuming just-picked produce are one aspect of this relationship. Another is sharing in the risks and rewards of the farm each season. Unpredictable weather and pest damage can occur and can mean certain crop shortages or failures despite very specialized practices and efforts to reduce such risks. Likewise, each year we have wild successes with crops that produce beyond our expectations and our members are the first to receive the bounty of these excesses.
Payments and Cancellations
Payments for shares may be submitted via credit card on our website or with a check made out to Seva Farms mailed to 2645 Peters Rd in Dexter (please indicate in the check memo the share you are choosing).
I understand that membership is non-refundable.
The CSA model works uniquely well for both for farmers and shareholders. We receive your payment for the season upfront when we incur the most costs. As shareholders and primary supporters of the farm, you receive the best of our produce throughout the season. For this reason, we are not able to offer refunds. If for any reason you can no longer participate in the CSA program, you may transfer your share to another person of your choice at any time. This transfer is the responsibility of the shareholder, not Seva Farms.
Share Start and End Dates
I understand that the start and end dates of each share may be flexible, and that Seva Farms will alert me by email of the exact date as early as possible based on seasonal conditions and product availability. I understand it is my responsibility to make sure I am receiving emails and newsletters from Seva Farms.
Share Pick-Up
I understand it is my responsibility to pick-up my weekly share on Saturdays between the hours of 7 am - 12 noon each week at the farm (2279 Scio Rd, Dexter) or at the Farmers Market between 7 am and 12 noon. If I am out of town or unable to pick up my share, it is my responsibility to find a substitute to pick up the share during the designated hours, or to let Seva Farms know by text (734-276-6520) or email (mohindersinghyogi@gmail.com) if no one will be picking it up in which case it will be donated.
Seva Farms has established relationships with local food banks and low-income senior housing that always appreciates fresh produce. We would like none of it to go to waste, it is very helpful to know ahead of time if you need to forfeit your share on any given week.
Boxes and Bags
We encourage you to use your own reusable bags to take home your share each week. We provide paper bags and sometimes boxes for your use as well. If you take home a WAXED produce box, we ask that you return it to us the following week. All other bags/boxes do not need to be returned but we will happily accept them for reuse.
Flower Care
I understand that flowers have a variable vase life depending on variety of 3-10 days.
Communication
By purchasing a share for the CSA I understand I will be added to the Seva Farms email list and I agree to add mohindersinghyogi@gmail.com to my email contacts. Seva Farms communicates updates and changes through email, as well as what to expect in your share each week. Seva Farms will not be held accountable for miscommunication due to our emails going to your spam folder. I understand that it is in my interest to check my email the day before and the day of share pickup to catch any last-minute changes or updates.
